Dr. Rosenthal is an expert in clinical ethics, research ethics, with special interests in endocrine ethics and reproductive ethics. Trained at the University of Toronto's Joint Center for Bioethics, she is Founding Director of the University of Kentucky Program for Bioethics. She is Chair of the American Thyroid Association's Ethics Advisory Committee, having also served on the Ethics Advisory Committee of The Endocrine Society. She is the author of over 50 publications, including peer-reviewed articles, blog posts, and consumer trade books on diabetes, thyroid disease and a range of women's health issues. Dr. Rosenthal has been quoted by the science and health media such as Discover Magazine, and CNN. She has appeared on popular shows such as Dr. Phil, and has done over 500 media interviews across North America. Dr. Rosenthal has provided commentary on controversial cases such as Terri Schiavo and the California Octuplets, as well as "hot topics" in women's health issues such as the ethics of bioidentical hormones.

In the scholarly world, Dr. Rosenthal has delivered over 150 ethics presentations nationally and internationally, and is faculty at the Center for Clinical and Translational Science at the University of Kentucky.
